In Old Town Alexandria, VA, we met a homeless man who was homeless "by choice" ...sometimes sleeping on the ground at Waterfront Park (which is an actual park in Old Town)...with great views of the Potomac.
Rachel Russell - vocal; Laura Selby - cello; Bob Willocks - acoustic bass; Kent Heckaman - piano
lyrics
Dark coffee stains on his shirt
Want for not, at Waterfront Park
Homeless yet he’s perfectly home
Sea urchin crawls across ocean floor
Down so deep, there’s no light at all
Riches to rags, is the story I’m told
Branches grow; gale force brings them down
No hindsight, nothing to change
All is OK living in the park
Not so dark
